Typical applications
- Municipal and industrial wastewater sludge
- Food processing effluent sludge
- Pulp, paper and fibre sludges
Conditioned sludge is spread onto a moving filter belt, where free water drains by gravity. The sludge is then sandwiched between two belts and carried through a series of rollers of decreasing diameter, which press out more water. The dewatered cake is scraped off at the discharge end while wash sprays keep the belts open.
Belt presses run continuously and need little operator attention, which makes them a common choice for wastewater plants. Polymer dosing has a large effect on performance; we can help with jar testing and pilot trials to set the right conditioning.
