Self-Cleaning Filters

Self-cleaning scraper filter
Scraper assembly from a self-cleaning filterWedge wire filter elements

Automatic scraper and backwash filters that clean their own screens without stopping flow. For continuous lines where bag or cartridge changes would be too frequent.

Typical applications

  • Viscous liquids, resins and coatings
  • Food liquids and edible oils
  • Process and cooling water
Livic

Supplied in partnership with Livic (China).

Self-cleaning filters capture solids on a wedge-wire or perforated screen, then remove them automatically, either with a rotating scraper (scraper type) or with a short reverse flow (backwash type). Solids collect at the bottom and are purged periodically, so the filter keeps running without operator intervention.

They suit continuous processes with a steady solids load, where disposable bags or cartridges would need changing too often.
