Filter Cloth

Every filter cloth style has its own weave pattern, yarn type, surface finish, porosity and weight. The right choice balances two things: filtrate clarity at the start of each cycle, and cake release at the end.
On most sludges we prefer relatively open monofilament fabrics, because the cake does most of the filtering and monofilament releases cleanly. In process applications it is common to accept somewhat poorer cake release for a cleaner initial filtrate; in waste applications, the reverse.
